Explanation
A biography (tarjimai hol) is a text about a person’s life path: when and where he or she was born, what he or she did and achieved. The textbook text “Rassomning yuksalishi” (The rise of an artist) is about the famous cartoon creator Walt Disney. He was born on 5 December 1901 in Chicago, USA. We do not repeat the text; we read our own text. A biography states dates, places and key achievements exactly.
Worked examples
“The boy who drew”. Dilshod was 10 years old and loved drawing very much. He took his drawings to the school newspaper office but they were not accepted. Dilshod was upset, but the next day he started drawing again. For a year he drew one picture every day, and gradually his work became beautiful. The following year the school newspaper put his drawing on the front page. “Not the first try but not stopping is what matters,” said his teacher.
