Explanation

If something is entrusted to you, you must deliver it whole to its owner. The textbook has the verse tale “Bir butun oy, o‘n ikki yulduz” (One whole moon, twelve stars) by Jo‘ra Rahim, a children’s poet with more than ten published books. In the tale an old woman gives a boy a task and says a riddle-like phrase; the tale calls us to be truthful. We do not retell it; we read our own text. In a riddle the name of a thing is not said; its signs are listed.

Worked examples
“The change”. Mother gave Zafar some money: “Buy a loaf of bread and a bottle of milk at the shop.” The shopkeeper gave Zafar the bread, the milk and the change. On the way Zafar saw an ice-cream stall and wanted to buy ice cream with the change. But he thought: “This money is something mother entrusted to me,” and walked on. At home he gave all the change back to his mother. “You are a trustworthy boy,” said mother, and in the evening she took him for ice cream herself.
Riddle: Round, soft, baked in the tandir, the centre of the tablecloth. What is it? (Bread)
