Explanation

One of the ancient games of the Uzbek people is uloq-ko‘pkari. It is a competition of horse riders that requires strength, agility and understanding with the horse. In the textbook story “Karim polvon” by Abdulla Saidov, autumn festivals and preparation for the ko‘pkari are described. We do not retell it; we read our own text. After the text we work with statements judged as “true” or “false”.

Worked examples
“Sherzod and his horse”. Sherzod has a horse called Bo‘zqashqa. Every morning he washes the horse and combs its mane. He had a new horseshoe fitted because the road is long. Sherzod tells his classmates: “A horse is a faithful friend, one must treat it with love.” At the festival young riders took part in a small race. Sherzod reached the finish first, but he first gave the horse water and only then enjoyed his victory.
True/false: 1) Sherzod looks after the horse every day. (true) 2) After winning he forgot the horse. (false)
Class activity
