Textbook: Part 4, pp. 34–37
GoalThink about what true friendship is like.
New words
true · chinloyal · sodiqbond · rishtasympathetic · hamdard
Explanation
Friendship exists not only between people. It can also be between animals and people, peoples and countries. A true friend is loyal: he shares a friend’s joy and sympathises with a friend’s sorrow. The poem “Chin do‘st” (A true friend) in the textbook speaks about a child and his four-legged friend on a summer day.
Worked examples
“Oqtosh”. Ali found a puppy in the yard. He named it Oqtosh. Every day he gave it water and food. Oqtosh met Ali after school. One day Ali fell and hurt his knee. Oqtosh did not leave his side. Ali and Oqtosh became real friends.
Sodiq means faithful. Rishta is a bond.
