Stylistics of tense suffixes
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Write a 4-sentence text about a past event and rewrite it in the historical present.
For example: «Kecha yomg‘ir yog‘di. Men yo‘lda qoldim. Bir kishi soyabon tutdi. Rahmat aytdim.» (“Yesterday it rained. I was caught on the road. A man held out an umbrella. I said thank you.”) → the same in the present tense forms: yog‘adi, qolaman, tutadi, aytaman.
2
Write two scientific definitions of your own and mark the tense forms.
For example: «Ot predmetni bildiradi» (“A noun denotes an object”); «Fe’l harakatni bildiradi» (“A verb denotes an action”) – both have the -adi (present-future) form: habitual, general.
3
Make one sentence each with -yapti, -moqda and -yotir.
For example: «Bola o‘qiyapti» (“The child is reading”), «Qurilish davom etmoqda» (“Construction is continuing”), «Quyosh botayotir» (“The sun is setting”).
4
Find two more examples of tense transfer in conversation like «ketdik», «keldim».
For example: «Tushundim» (“I see”, I understand now), «Ketdim» (“I’m off”, when saying goodbye).
