Project: Our dream city

Textbook: p. 11
GoalProject: describing and presenting your dream city; the most + adjective.
New words
dream · orzuhistorical · tarixiycultural · madaniypopular · mashhur
Explanation

In the project your group designs a dream city and describes it: what it looks like, where it is, why people love it, what they can do there and how they travel there. To say which is best we use superlatives: “the most interesting”, “the most beautiful”, “the cleanest”. Long adjectives take the most; short ones take -est. Useful adjectives: modern, historical, cultural, exciting, unusual, local. Start your presentation with “Our city is called ...” and finish with “That’s why ...”.

Worked examples
Our city is called Sunville. It is on the coast of a warm sea, so it is sunny all year. It is the cleanest city in the world because all the cars are electric. People go to the beach, visit the science museum and cycle in the parks.
Our dream city is the most comfortable city for pupils. It has the biggest library, free buses for students and a huge sports centre. That’s why it is very popular.
Class activity

“Dream city show”: each group draws a poster and the class votes for the most interesting, the most creative and the most comfortable city.
