Let’s go to the park!

Textbook: p. 55
GoalTalking about favourite activities: like / enjoy / prefer / be good at / be interested in + -ing; the Tashkent Ecopark.
New words
enjoy · zavqlanmoqprefer · afzal ko‘rmoqbe interested in · qiziqmoqrecycle · qayta ishlash
Explanation

These verbs and phrases are followed by the -ing form: I like cooking, I enjoy swimming, I prefer reading to watching TV, I’m good at drawing, I’m interested in history. Prefer ... to ... compares two things: “I prefer walking to driving.” Suggestion: “Let’s go to the park!” — “Good idea!” or “Sorry, I can’t. I must ...”. Tashkent’s Ecopark opened in 2018. It is built around the idea “reduce, reuse, recycle”, so you can see sculptures and playground objects made from old tyres, bottles and pipes. In the park people do sport, draw in art studios and learn to take care of nature.

Worked examples
I’m interested in nature, so I enjoy taking photos of birds. I’m good at climbing but I’m not good at cooking. I prefer walking to cycling.
— Let’s go to the Ecopark on Saturday. — Good idea! What can we do there? — We can play games and make something from old bottles. — Great, I enjoy making things.
