GoalTypes of shops and what they sell; the question “Where can I buy ...?”
New words
bakery · novvoyxonabutcher’s · qassob do‘konichemist’s · dorixonaflorist’s · gul do‘koni
Explanation

Types of shop: a bakery sells bread, a butcher’s sells meat, a greengrocer’s sells fruit and vegetables, a chemist’s (pharmacy) sells medicine, a florist’s sells flowers, a newsagent’s sells newspapers and magazines, a shoe shop sells shoes, a toy shop sells toys and a corner shop is a small local shop. A name with ’s (butcher’s) means “the butcher’s shop”, so the word shop is left out. Question: “Where can I buy some plasters?” Answer: “You can buy them at the chemist’s” or “in the chemist’s”. Corner shops are often open longer than other shops. In a big supermarket you can find everything in one place.

Worked examples
