What’s it made of?

Textbook: p. 41
GoalSaying what things are made of and where they are made: made of / made in; saying what we use them for.
New words
wood · yog‘ochmetal · metallplastic · plastmassaglass · shisha
Explanation

We say what a thing is made of with made of: “The table is made of wood.”, “The keys are made of metal.”, “What is the mirror made of?” — “It’s made of glass.” For plurals: “They are made of plastic.” For the place of production: “Where is it made?” — “It’s made in China / India / Italy.” The word made does not change: it is made, they are made. For use: “We use a towel for drying our hands.”, “We use a jar to keep food.” Materials: wood, metal, plastic, glass, paper, wool, leather. Remember: made of goes with the material, made in goes with the country.
