Ernest Thompson Seton
According to the textbook, Ernest Seton-Tompson was born on 14 August 1860 in England and his family moved to Canada when he was six. As a boy he was curious about nature; to buy a book on Canadian birds he sold his rabbits and earned money by odd jobs. First he was an artist who drew animals, and later became known as a writer and naturalist scholar. In literature he made animals the main characters of a work; his book “Jonivorlar haqida hikoyalar” (stories about wild animals) spread his name over the world and was read by children and adults alike. The textbook says he gathered his observations in the two-volume book “Shimoliy hayvonlar hayoti” and received a gold medal. He lived 86 years and was buried on a hill, as he wished. His works were translated into Uzbek by the writer Tog‘ay Murod.
