Explanation
Hamza Hakimzoda Niyoziy was born in Qo‘qon on 6 March 1889; “Niyoziy” is his pen name and “Hakimzoda” means “doctor’s son”. As an enlightener he opened new-method schools and wrote textbooks himself, for example “Yengil adabiyot” and “Qiroat kitobi”. In 1915 he set up the “G‘ayrat” library in Marg‘ilon. From 1908 Hamza also wrote works for the stage, and in his poems he called the people to learning and enlightenment. He was killed on 18 March 1929 in Shohimardon.
