Explanation

To recycle means to make something new from something old. Things we can recycle: paper, cans, bottles, cardboard. They go into a special bin — the recycling bin. Sentences: “We can recycle paper.” “We can’t recycle a banana peel.”

Worked examples
We can recycle paper, cans and bottles.
This cardboard box is old. Let’s put it in the recycling bin.
Class activity

“Sorting”: label four boxes (paper, can, bottle, cardboard). Children put picture cards in the right box and say “It’s paper.”
