Explanation

We read a text about vacation. Read the title and the questions first. Find the exact information: who, where, what? Write the answer in a full sentence. “Like + -ing”: I like swimming. “My favorite thing is …”

Worked examples
“Our vacation”. Every summer my family goes to the lake. It is hot and sunny there. We have a picnic on the sand. My father and I swim in the water. My mother wears her new sunglasses and reads a book. My little sister builds a big sandcastle, and I put a shell on top. We love the lake! My favorite thing is swimming.
I like swimming. My favorite thing on vacation is building sandcastles.
Class activity

“My vacation picture”: children write 5 sentences (where they go, with whom, what they do, favorite thing). They read them to a partner.
