Explanation

People live in many places: city, village, mountains, desert. Types of homes: apartment (a flat in a big building), house (a separate home), yurt (a round tent used by nomads in Central Asia), tent. Sentences: “People live in cities.” “Some people live in yurts.” “I live in an apartment.”

Worked examples
In a big city many families live in apartments.
In the mountains some families live in small houses, and in summer some use yurts.
Class activity

“My home”: children draw their home and write “I live in a house / an apartment in a city / village.” Display the pictures and see where everyone lives.
