Interjections (междометия) express feeling, will or etiquette and are not connected to other words: they do not change and are not parts of the sentence. Commands and calls: «брысь», «марш», «стоп», «айда», «алло», «тсс», «кис-кис», «цып-цып». In writing an interjection is set off by a comma or an exclamation mark: «Ах, как красиво!» Sound-imitating words are close to them: «мяу-мяу», «гав-гав», «кукареку», «бах», «хлоп», «тик-так», «кап-кап». Example: «Ой, я забыл тетрадь!» shows haste or embarrassment. «Здравствуйте» is formal; «привет» is for friends.

(“Come on, let’s clean the yard!” “Hurray!” “Oh, so much rubbish! Shh, don’t frighten the cat: puss-puss!” “Ah, how beautiful it looks now! Bravo, friends!” “Thanks, you’re welcome, see you tomorrow, bye!”)
(the door slammed)

“Theatre of feelings”. A pupil takes an interjection card («Ах!», «Фу!», «Ура!», «Стоп!») and acts it out. The class guesses the meaning: joy, fear, order.
