A true friend

Textbook: Part 2, pp. 11–17
GoalState the signs of true friendship; compare the behaviour of characters.
New words
friend · do‘stloyalty · sadoqatregretful · pushaymongenerous · saxiy
Explanation

A true friend helps in hard days and does not do harm even when upset. In the textbook story “Chin do‘st” (A true friend) by Nasiba Erxonova three vehicles are the characters. We do not repeat it; we read our own text. When comparing characters we say what each one did and why.

Worked examples
“Three travellers”. Salim, Botir and Jasur set out for a hike in the mountains. On the way Botir’s water ran out. Salim scolded him: “You did not prepare well” and walked on. Jasur opened his own bottle and said: “Please, we will drink together.” At the top Salim’s foot slipped, and Botir and Jasur helped him down, holding him by the arms. Salim was embarrassed and apologised. That day he understood who a true friend is.
Comparison: Salim – rude, later regretful; Jasur – generous, helped.
Class activity
