Explanation

This year we read poems, stories, tales, legends, fables, epic poems, memoirs, biographies, audio texts and informative texts. Each genre has its own signs. Authors of works read in this unit: Dilshod Rajab, Ravshan Isoqov, Normurod Narzullayev. At the end of the year we remember the main values: homeland, honesty, work, manners, kindness, nature and books. We will continue reading throughout the summer.

Worked examples
“Summing up the year”. This year I became friends with books. Reading about the homeland, I came to love my country even more. I understood the value of speaking truth and keeping promises. I learned that nature must be protected and water saved. I learned to respect my parents and elders and to take care of books. In summer I promise to read one book every week, and I will keep this promise.
Genre signs: tale – “Once there was ...”; fable – an idea; memoir – “I”; biography – dates and achievements.
Class activity

“Year bookshelf”: the class writes on the wall the genres read during the year, one example each.
