Explanation

An audio text is a text heard from the teacher or a recording. While listening we must concentrate and remember key words. The textbook has an audio text about traffic rules. We do not repeat it; below is our own short audio text. The teacher reads it aloud, children listen without looking at the book, then answer questions.

Worked examples
Audio text “A safe road”. When walking on the road, we use the pavement. If there is no pavement, we walk along the left edge of the road so that we can see the cars. We cross the road at a zebra crossing on the green light. In a car we fasten the seat belt. A cyclist wears a helmet and rides on the right edge of the road. On the road we do not look at the phone. Following the rules means protecting ourselves and others.
Question: What does a cyclist wear? Answer: a helmet.
Class activity

“I heard, I drew”: children listen to the audio text and draw a sign they remember (zebra, traffic light, seat belt).
