Explanation

According to the textbook, in the independence years a free creative environment appeared for poets, and they began to express their inner world, view of the world and feelings as they are. Themes such as valuing human freedom, the happiness and future of the homeland, awareness of national identity and respect for national values lead in the poetry of this period. The theme of the homeland is one of the most constant; each poet may express it in his own way, even without using the word “Vatan”, and often the lyric hero’s inner world becomes an image of the homeland. Poetry is being renewed in content, and experiments were also made in various poetic forms. The textbook stresses that a moving poem needs a healthy literary environment as well as talent.

Worked examples
Example: a poet may express love for the homeland without writing the word “Vatan” once, by describing his village, his grandfather’s hut and the smell of bread.
Example: the phrase “independence period” in an exam refers to literature after 1991, so you must be able to separate poets of this period chronologically from earlier ones.
