Explanation

In the conclusion the textbook stresses that literary-educational books, works of art and theatre performances help a person’s body and spirit rise toward maturity. During the year you became acquainted with folk oral literature, ancient Turkic literature (Mahmud Koshg‘ariy, Yusuf Xos Hojib), classical Uzbek literature (Rabg‘uziy, Navoiy, Bobur, Mashrab, Anbar Otin), twentieth-century literature (Fitrat, Cho‘lpon, Vohidov, Parfi), the poetry, prose and drama of the independence period, and world literature (Chekhov, Guntekin). In an exam you will need to know the author, period, genre, theme and main artistic devices of these works; so it is useful to review each topic in the order “author – work – genre – idea – device.” The textbook stresses that literary education is needed for a lifetime, that it improves oral and written speech, and it calls on you to love, read, study and promote true literature.

Worked examples
Example: “Abulfayzxon” – Fitrat’s tragedy (drama), “Kecha” – Cho‘lpon’s novel, “Ruhlar isyoni” – Vohidov’s dostan: remembering the genre together with the author prevents mix-ups in exams.
Example: both “Garov” (Chekhov) and “Tanho qayiq” (A’zam) have the theme of “a person and his choice,” but their genres differ: one is a story, the other a dramatic legend.
