Write one cause-effect sentence in three ways: with chunki, with shuning uchun and with a colon.
For example: «Men uyda qoldim, chunki yomg‘ir yog‘di.» (“I stayed at home because it rained.”) «Yomg‘ir yog‘di, shuning uchun uyda qoldim.» (“It rained, so I stayed at home.”) «Uyda qoldim: yomg‘ir yog‘di.»

Make three composite sentences with the relations of contrast, time and purpose.
For example: «Charchadim, lekin ishni tugatdim.» (“I was tired, but I finished the work.”) «Dars tugadi – hamma chiqdi.» (“The lesson ended – everyone went out.”) «Yaxshi o‘qiy deb, kitob oldim.» (“I took a book so as to study well.”)

Make two conjunctionless sentences each with a colon and with a dash.
Colon: «Men bildim: u haq.» (“I realised: he is right.”) «Havo sovuq edi: hamma issiq kiyindi.» (“The weather was cold: everyone dressed warmly.”) Dash: «Yomg‘ir to‘xtadi – quyosh chiqdi.» (“The rain stopped – the sun came out.”) «Yoz keldi – bog‘lar yashnadi.» (“Summer came – the gardens flourished.”)

Make a long sentence with conjunctions for an official letter and write why such a sentence is rare in conversation.
For example: «Tanlovni ikki bosqichda o‘tkazish taklif etiladi, chunki ishtirokchilar soni ko‘paydi va bir kunda barcha ishlarni ko‘rib chiqishga vaqt yetmaydi.» (“It is proposed to hold the competition in two stages, because the number of participants has grown and there is not enough time to review all the works in one day.”) In conversation a listener finds it hard to keep a long sentence in mind.
