Explanation

Technology is changing fast: robots, self-driving cars, GPS, virtual reality headsets and solar panels. To predict the future we use will: Robots will help old people. In a conversation you should let the speaker know you are following, because this helps them continue. Interest: That’s so interesting! How cool! Surprise: Really? Are you serious? Happiness: Wonderful! I’m happy to hear that! Sadness: That’s so terrible. I’m sorry to hear that. These phrases work best with the right intonation.

Worked examples
A: Our school will get a robot to help in the library. B: Really? A: Yes, it will find books and it will say the shelf number. B: How cool! A: But it will not replace the librarian. B: That’s good to hear.
A: My tablet fell and the screen broke. B: I’m sorry to hear that. A: Don’t worry, an adult will take it to a repair shop. B: That’s a relief!
