Explanation
Digital media is information that electronic devices store, show and send: web pages, software, digital pictures and video, e-books, audio (MP3, podcasts) and video games. It works on devices such as computers, tablets and smartphones. Digital media changed how people read, work, relax and communicate, so we often call our time the Information Age. People connect the saying “Knowledge is power” with Francis Bacon; today we also need to find information, check it and use it safely. To say how we use something, use I use ... to + verb or ... for + -ing.
Worked examples
I use my smartphone to take photos and to send messages to my cousin. My father uses a laptop for working at home. My little sister watches cartoons on a tablet in the evening. Our teacher plays audio recordings for listening practice.
Digital: an e-book, a podcast, a video game, a website. Not digital: a paper letter, a printed poster, a wall clock with hands.

“Where do you use it?”: in groups of four each pupil names three digital things and says what they use them for (I use ... to ...).
