Explanation
Music is part of human culture: archaeologists have found flutes made about 40,000 years ago. Genres: classical, pop, jazz, rap, hip hop, heavy metal, country / folk. Music affects the brain: it can change our mood, reduce stress and help us study. To talk about feelings we use feel + adjective: I feel calm. She feels happy. Make + object + adjective, or object + verb (without to): This song makes me happy. It makes me feel relaxed. Rap makes people dance. Question: Which songs make you feel energetic? In the active voice we do not use to after make.
Worked examples
Slow piano music makes me feel calm, so I listen to it while I study. Loud rock makes my cousin feel energetic. A birthday song makes everyone smile. When I feel nervous before an exam, quiet music helps me relax.
