Genres: comedy – funny; drama – serious life stories; action – fights and fast events; adventure – journeys and risks; horror – scary; fantasy – magic and imaginary worlds; science fiction – the future, other planets, technology. To ask about experience we use the Present Perfect: Have/Has + subject + past participle: Have you ever seen a science-fiction film? Answer: Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t. Positive: I have seen ... (I’ve seen); negative: I have never seen ... . Irregular verbs: see – seen, eat – eaten, meet – met, leave – left. The “Oscar” is an award of the American film academy; the first ceremony was held on 16 May 1929 in Hollywood.
