Explanation

Justice bodies organise execution of laws, provide legal services to the public and register civil status records (birth, marriage, death). Many public services are now received through Public Services Centres and the my.gov.uz portal. An advocate is a licensed independent lawyer: defends in court and investigation, gives advice, prepares documents. Every suspect and accused person has the right to a defender; where one cannot be afforded, legal aid is provided at state expense in cases the law provides. A notary certifies contracts, wills, copies, the authenticity of signatures and translations, and issues inheritance certificates. These services may be paid or have benefits by law. Do not trust fake legal “advisers”; turn to a licensed specialist or an official centre.

Worked examples
A family buying a home has the sale contract certified by a notary; if a dispute arises later, this document protects their rights.
If a teen is called for questioning, they should speak in the presence of a parent and a defender (advocate), not alone.
