Explanation
The adjective names a feature of an object and answers «какой? чей?». Adjectives are qualitative, relative and possessive. Qualitative adjectives in the full form change by gender, number and case and are attributes in a sentence («красивый город»); in the short form they do not change by case, agree with the subject in gender and number and are predicates: «город красив». Qualitative adjectives have degrees of comparison. The comparative is simple («выше, красивее, тише») or compound («более красивый»). The superlative is simple («красивейший, высочайший») or compound («самый красивый, наиболее красивый»). A degree is not expressed twice: we do not say «более красивее».
