Textbook: pp. 54–57
GoalMore phrasal verbs (put off, work out, turn out, get on with, look forward to); discussing IQ, effort and success.
New words
to put off · kechiktirmoqto work out · hal qilmoq; mashq qilmoqto turn out · natijada ... bo‘lib chiqmoqto look forward to · intiqlik bilan kutmoq
Explanation
Put off – delay: Don’t put off your homework. Work out – solve something or exercise: I worked out the answer; she works out every morning. Turn out – to end in a certain way: The test turned out to be easy. Get on with – have a good relationship with someone, or continue with a task: I get on well with my team. Look forward to + noun or -ing: I look forward to meeting you. IQ is a measure of mental ability, but success does not depend on IQ alone: patience, practice and a good strategy matter too. Many studies suggest that effort plays a big role in success. The key is to learn from mistakes and not to give up quickly.
