Explanation
Synonyms are words with a similar meaning (smart – clever – intelligent), and antonyms are words with an opposite meaning (strong – weak). Synonyms differ in style: intelligent is more formal, brainy is informal. To enrich your vocabulary choose the synonym that fits meaning and style. A personal profile is three to five sentences about you: who you are, what you are good at and what you aim for. Support adjectives with facts: I am organised: I keep a weekly planner. In a discussion about success give an opinion and a reason: To me, success means... because... Success is the result of steady work, readiness to learn and learning from mistakes, not only of luck.
Worked examples
Synonyms: begin – start; huge – enormous. Antonyms: success – failure; confident – shy.

Why is “brainy” unsuitable for a formal CV?
Because it is informal; a CV needs formal words such as intelligent.
