The composite sentence without a conjunction and its punctuation
Ответы — для родителей и учителей.
1
Using the four marks (, – : ;), write five conjunction-less composite sentences: one each for sequence, contrast, condition, explanation and comparison.
Sequence – comma; contrast and condition – dash; explanation – colon; comparison (with commas inside) – semicolon. Each part needs its own subject and predicate.
2
Punctuate: “Qor yog‘di yo‘llar yopildi Biz uyda qoldik tashqarida sovuq edi”.
Qor yog‘di, yo‘llar yopildi. Biz uyda qoldik: tashqarida sovuq edi.
3
Make one sentence each of contrast and condition with a dash.
For example: Aytish oson – qilish qiyin. (Note: if the predicate has -sa, the sentence is subordinate and takes a comma: Sabr qilsang, murodga yetasan.) Sabr qil – murodga yetasan.
4
Write a sentence with a semicolon and give the reason.
For example: Ertalab yomg‘ir yog‘di, shamol esdi; tushdan keyin esa havo ochildi. The parts are compared and contain a comma.
