Объяснение
Linked composite sentences divide into four groups by the kind of linking means. In copulative sentences (va, hamda, -u, -da) events are simultaneous, in sequence or in a reason-result relation. In adversative sentences (ammo, lekin, biroq) the second part contrasts with the first and is preceded by a comma. Disjunctive sentences (yo, goh... goh, dam... dam) express alternation or choice, and negative ones (na... na) express negation; they are written with a comma before the repeated conjunction. To classify a composite sentence correctly we count the predicates, find the conjunction and then determine the relation of meaning.
Patterns: [ ] va [ ]; [ ], ammo [ ]; goh [ ], goh [ ]; na [ ], na [ ]. Each part has its own grammatical core (subject and predicate); homogeneous predicates of one subject do not form separate parts.
Работа в классе
“Table”: the class splits into four groups; each finds three examples for its conjunction group and writes them on the board.
Упражнения
1
List the kinds of linked composite sentences.
Copulative, adversative, disjunctive, negative.
2
Classify “Kun isidi, lekin shamol sovuq edi”.
A linked composite sentence with an adversative conjunction.
3
Make one copulative and one disjunctive sentence.
For example: Dars boshlandi va hamma jim bo‘ldi. Yo sen shu yerda kutasan, yo men seni ichkariga olib kiraman.
4
Why does the number of predicates decide the number of parts?
Because each part is a separate simple sentence with its own predicate.
