Subordinate composite sentences with -ki and correlative words

Sometimes the main clause contains a pronoun such as “shu” or “shunday” whose content is not yet stated; the following subordinate clause reveals it. The particle -ki links the two parts: it is written joined to the predicate of the main clause (or to the pronoun acting as predicate), then a comma follows and the subordinate clause comes. For example: “Shuni unutmangki, vaqt qaytmaydi” – the content of the pronoun “shuni” is opened in the subordinate clause. The main clause should contain a demonstrative (shu, shunday, shuncha); sometimes it is omitted, but its place is felt. In whatever function the pronoun stands in the sentence, the subordinate clause takes the corresponding kind: subject, object, predicate or attribute.
