Before and after in a line

Explanation

Children stand in a line. The first child is at the front. The child in front of you is before you. The child behind you is after you. The last child is at the end. A train has an engine at the front. The carriages come after it.

Worked examples
The cat comes after the dog and before the rooster.
A toy train. The engine is first. Then come a red, a blue and a green carriage. There are 3 carriages after the engine.
In a line of 4 children, nobody is before the first child. Nobody is after the last child.
Class activity

Shoe line. Put the family's shoes in a line at the door, one pair after another. Ask: whose shoes are first? Whose are last? Whose shoes come before Dadi's? Whose come after yours? Then mix them up and make a new line.
