Explanation

“O‘zbekiston” is Abdulla Oripov’s famous poem written in 1968, called a qasida in the textbook. A qasida is a poem that praises something or someone. The work consists of fourteen stanzas of ten lines, that is 140 lines in all. At the end of every stanza comes the refrain “O‘zbekiston – Vatanim manim!” (Uzbekistan is my homeland). The poet shows the greatness of the land together with its nature through its great sons – Navoiy, Ulugbek, Beruni, Hamid Olimjon, G‘afur G‘ulom and others. According to the textbook’s note, in the years it was written it was not easy to write freely about the Uzbek people and their name, so the refrain was spoken with courage.
