Explanation

The textbook also gives Parts II and III of “Telebola”; they continue the adventure and contain unexpected events around the hero. We do not retell them; we read our own text. To understand an adventure work we find the sequence of events: beginning, development, climax and resolution. We write each part in one sentence and make a plan. We describe the hero and say what conclusion we draw from him.

Worked examples
Text “The secret map”. Madina found a hand-drawn map inside an old book. The map showed the way to the foot of an old walnut tree in the garden. She went there with her grandfather. From under a stone by the tree Grandfather took out a small tin box: inside was an old toy sewn from cotton. It turned out to be his childhood toy. Grandfather told them about his childhood for hours. Madina understood that curiosity and patience lead to treasure.
Plan: 1) a map was found; 2) they went to the walnut tree with Grandfather; 3) a toy came out of the box; 4) Grandfather told stories. Conclusion: curiosity and patience.
Class activity
