Explanation
The textbook gives the tale “Chumoli va bug‘doy donasi” (The ant and the grain of wheat) as an audio text, about the work and hope of tiny creatures. We do not retell it; below is our own audio text. The teacher reads it aloud and children listen without looking at the book. While listening we note 3–4 key words in the notebook and then answer questions using them. Our text also gives information about plant growth: a seed sprouts in moisture and warmth.
Worked examples
Audio text “The bean”. In class Nodir put one bean on wet cotton in a glass jar. He placed the jar on the warm windowsill and moistened the cotton every day. On the third day a white rootlet came out of the bean. On the fifth day a thin green sprout appeared. The teacher explained that a seed needs water, warmth and air to sprout. Two weeks later Nodir planted the seedling in a pot. He understood that patience and care bring results.
Key words: bean, wet cotton, root, sprout, pot. Question: What does a seed need? Answer: water, warmth and air.
