Explanation
Kavsar Turdiyeva is a poet who writes poems for children. Her poem “Mard o‘g‘lonlar bo‘lamiz” (We will be brave lads) is in the textbook and speaks of courage and good intent through a conversation between father and child. We do not quote it; we read our own quatrain. Courage is not only strength: it is telling the truth without fear, not running from difficulty and helping the weak. In expressive reading we pay attention to loudness, pauses and logical stress. Risky activities (climbing mountains, swimming) are done only under adult supervision.
Worked examples
Quatrain “Determination”. When a hard problem meets me, / I do not bow my head, I think. / If one way fails, another / I seek with patience. (our own poem)
Signs of courage: thinking, patience, searching. Expressive reading: say “I do not bow my head” in a strong voice.
