Let’s make open sandwiches
The word “buterbrod” comes from German and means “bread with butter on it”. Every such sandwich is built on bread. We make it from fresh food just before eating, and the slice of bread is neither too thick nor too thin: about 1 cm. Main knife rules: cut only on a board, pass a knife to someone handle first, do not get distracted while holding one, and never reach for a falling knife. Only adults work with a sharp knife; you help them.
You need: bread, butter, cheese, cucumber, herbs, a chopping board, a blunt butter knife, a plate. Steps: 1) Wash your hands with soap; wash the cucumber and herbs. 2) An adult slices the bread on the board about 1 cm thick and also slices the cheese and cucumber. 3) Spread a thin layer of butter with the blunt knife. 4) Add the cheese and cucumber slices, decorate with herbs and serve at once. Safety: only adults use a sharp knife; never hold a knife by its blade; work with clean hands; ask whether anyone is allergic to a food (for example milk or cheese).
