Explanation
Electric appliances are our helpers with housework. A washing machine washes clothes, an iron smooths them, a vacuum cleaner cleans the carpet, a fridge keeps food cold, a kettle boils water. They make work faster and easier. But electricity can be dangerous. Rules: do not use a broken device, do not touch appliances or sockets with wet hands, do not play with wires, and never leave a switched-on appliance unattended.
Worked examples
People used to wash clothes by hand; now a machine does it.
If a wire is frayed and the inside shows, tell an adult and do not touch it.
Class activity
“Who does what?” game: cards with appliance names (iron, mixer, hair dryer, fridge) and cards with jobs (smooths, mixes, dries hair, keeps cold). Children find the pairs. Then make a poster of electricity safety rules. Safety: do not touch real appliances in the game.
