Explanation
The number six is written with the digit 6. The bonds of 6 are: 5 + 1, 4 + 2, 3 + 3, 2 + 4, 1 + 5. The face of a die with the most dots shows 6 ⚅.
Worked examples
A box had 6 pieces of chalk; 2 were taken for the lesson: 6 − 2 = 4 pieces left.
Aziz sits at the 3rd desk from the front and the 4th from the back. Desks: 3 + 4 − 1 = 6 (Aziz’s desk was counted twice).
Class activity
Children share 6 pencils between two cups in different ways and write each split on the board.
