Adding three or more numbers

Explanation

To add three or more numbers, add them one after another: first the first two, then add the third to the result. 22 + 5 + 12 = 27 + 12 = 39.

Worked examples
In geography they learned about 24 lakes, 13 seas and 22 rivers: 24 + 13 + 22 = 37 + 22 = 59 bodies of water.
11 + 13 + 15 = 24 + 15 = 39
