Explanation

Numbers tell us how many: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Each number is one more than the number before it. We can show a number with fingers, dots or sticks.

Worked examples

On a die ⚃ shows 4 dots and ⚅ shows 6 dots.
Class activity

The teacher shows a number card; the children clap that many times.
