Explanation
Every object has properties: its shape, its colour and its size. An apple is round, red and small. When we compare two objects we ask three questions: What shape? What colour? Big or small?
Worked examples
🔴 and 🔵: same shape (circle), different colour (red and blue).
🟥 and 🔺: same colour (red), different shape (square and triangle).
Class activity
“Mystery bag” game: the teacher takes one object out of a bag and the children name its shape, colour and size.
