Explanation
To draw a segment of a given length: 1) mark a point; 2) put the ruler’s 0 on that point; 3) mark a second point at the needed length; 4) join the points with a straight line.
Worked examples
AB = 8 cm. Mark C 4 cm from A, and C is the midpoint of AB (AC = CB = 4 cm).
32 cm = 30 cm + 2 cm = 3 dm 2 cm
