Объяснение
In “The wild goats and the herdsman” a herdsman gives new arrivals more feed than his own goats, and they go back to the mountains thinking they would be replaced by the next newcomers; the lesson: do not rush into friendship with people who prefer new friends to old ones. In “The deer and the vineyard” the vines hide a deer from a hunter, but when the danger passes the deer eats their leaves and the hunter finds it; the lesson: repay kindness with kindness. In “The wolf and the crane” the crane takes a bone from the wolf’s throat and asks for a reward, but the wolf refuses; the lesson: do good to those who will value it. In these fables animals show human behaviour.
Примеры
Example: in “The deer and the vineyard” eating the vine that saved you is ingratitude, so punishment follows.
Example: the wolf saying “you got your head out safely” is like an ungrateful, selfish person.
