Unit 8: grammar and homework
Textbook: pp. 91–92
GoalUnit 8 review: make + adjective (It makes me feel happy), it’s worth + -ing, have something done, should have + something done.
To express feelings we use make me feel + adjective: Music makes me feel relaxed. A new jacket makes me feel confident. Question: How do you feel when you win? – It makes me feel proud. It’s worth + -ing says that an action is worth doing: It’s worth reading this book. It’s not worth waiting for the bus in the rain. Have something done: Rustam has his bike repaired at a workshop, but Dilnoza repairs hers herself. Should + have + something done for advice: Jasur’s boots are worn out, so he should have them mended. Word building: -er / -or: teacher, visitor, repairer. Do not try to fix electrical or glass items yourself; ask an adult or a professional.
