Explanation

A school can serve the whole neighbourhood, not only pupils. Possible facilities: meeting rooms, a library, a gym, a garden, evening courses, health classes. The community can help the school too: A local firm can pay for new sports kit. To state a problem and a solution: The problem is ... We need ... ; A person who can help is ... . An ideal community school: An ideal community school is a school which is open to everyone / where families can learn together. In such definitions we use which (for things) and where (for places). A telephone directory can help you find an organisation, its address and phone number.

Worked examples
The school hall can be used for meetings in the evening. Grandparents can use the library, and parents can attend computer classes. The local bakery can give flour for our cooking club.
Problem: the playground is in bad condition. We need new equipment and volunteers. The mahalla committee can help with workers, and the town council can give money.
