Explanation

A new document opens with File > New or Ctrl+N, and Word usually offers a blank document at start. Which character a key types depends on the keyboard language, shown on the language button at the right of the taskbar (for example UZ, EN, RU) and changed with the mouse or Alt+Shift (sometimes Windows+Space). The keyboard normally starts in lower case, so small letters appear. For a capital letter you hold Shift; for lots of capitals you switch Caps Lock on and then off again. For the Uzbek letters o‘ and g‘, use an Uzbek (Latin) keyboard layout if your computer has one; otherwise type the apostrophe ‘ straight after o or g with no space. Save a document at the very start and then press Ctrl+S often so that a power cut does not lose your work. At the first save you choose a folder and give the file a name that fits its content. If a file of that name already exists in the folder and you agree to replace it, the old document is overwritten.

Worked examples
In a new document type “Mening oilam” (My family): hold Shift for M and O. Then File > Save, name “Oila-1”, folder Documents. After later changes just press Ctrl+S.
To make a separate copy “Oila-2” of “Oila-1”, choose Save as…. “Oila-1” stays unchanged and “Oila-2” becomes a new file.
Class activity

“Case relay”: team members take turns using Shift, Caps Lock and the language switch to type the sentence “Toshkent – UZBEKISTAN poytaxti” exactly as shown.
