Explanation

The textbook has the informational text “Bayroqlar nimani anglatadi?” (What do flags mean?) about the colours of the state flag and the Olympic flag. We do not retell it; we read our own text. Every state shows its independence through symbols: flag, emblem and anthem. An emblem (gerb) is the official image of a state; the emblem of Uzbekistan shows the legendary Humo bird. Putting facts from an informational text into a table helps us remember them.

Worked examples
“In the language of flags”. Every state in the world has its own flag. The flag of Uzbekistan shows blue, white and green, thin red stripes, a crescent and twelve stars. The Olympic flag is white with five coloured rings in the middle. These rings are regarded as the symbol of the five continents united by the Olympic movement. The flag is raised when the Olympic Games open and lowered when they close. Respect for the flag is respect for the country and its people.
Table: Uzbekistan flag – blue, white, green, crescent, 12 stars; Olympic flag – white field, 5 rings.
