Explanation
Doing any job well takes four steps: idea, plan, making and checking. First we think of what to make, draw it and write which materials are needed. Then we make it step by step. At the end we check whether it is strong and safe.
Worked examples
Idea: a bird house. Plan: a card box, a paper roof, string. Check: are there any sharp edges?
Class activity
You need: clean waste items of your choice (boxes, caps, tubes, paper), scissors, glue, coloured paper. Steps: 1) Choose what to make and draw it in your notebook. 2) Write down and collect the materials. 3) Make it part by part. 4) Check the finished object and tell the class what it is for. Safety: choose only clean, unbreakable items without sharp edges; avoid pointed tools or ask an adult for help.
